The American puppeteers Robin Walsh and Sarah Frechette have learned the art of playing the thread over the years with Albrecht Roser (1922 - 2011). The starting point was initially a ball on the thread, then the complexity of the marionettes was learned by way of the simple cloth puppet or head-and-shoulder figures. In their workshop, S. Frechette and R. Walsh will show students how a Scarf Marionette is constructed and played according to the method of A. Roser.
